1. Ivan Konupek, a well-known Czech artist and representative of classical romanticism, was born in Prague in 1959.
The artist’s paintings adorn the interiors of connoisseurs of art in the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Italy, Switzerland, Russia and many other countries.
For example, his paintings can be seen in the gallery of the Indonesian Embassy in Prague.
The artist recalls that he tried to create his first image at the age of nine. He knows for sure that he seriously took up brushes and realised his mission on his tenth birthday, which became the birthday of a new artist. When his mother saw her son’s talent, she gave him Brandl oil paints as a gift. In memory of that day, he was lucky to keep one paint of blue.
For more than fifty years, his artistic images have been created and kept on living; they provide insight into the spiritual world, depth of feelings as well as beauty of the human body and nature.
2. Contemporary Czech artist, a representative of the Primitivism and Combined Painting school Miroslav Vit was born in Marianske Lazne in 1960. Currently, he lives in Prague
The artist’s paintings are in the collections of Czech, English and Indian adherents of this movement, which is often considered equivalent to naive painting.
His talent and strive for painting were discovered in 2005 in London, where the artist lived for 16 years.
His typical style is the simplicity of the depiction of reality and abandoning the established norms of artistic culture, the brightness and saturation of colours.
